The 77th Venice International Film Festival has officially dropped the curtain, after an inevitably particular edition, which is the first spokesperson for a sign of hope for the world of cinema and the arts, in this very special period.
28 film casts this year chose the Corradi Cinema Lounge as the ideal setting for their printing activities. In fact, more than 80 special guests from the world of cinema were registered at the Ausonia Hungaria hotel, who during the first two weeks of September lent themselves to activities such as interviews and photo shoots.
With these numbers we deserved a podium medal: during the award ceremony on Saturday September 12, the Leone d’Argento, the Grand Jury Prize, was in fact awarded to the director and screenwriter of the film «New Order» Michel Franco, our guest on Thursday 10 in the lounge.
He proved to be an author capable of narrating contemporaneity through cinema, giving shape to a story that becomes useful and urgent in its educational being. «Nuevo Orden», the original title of the film, describes the fall of a political system and the consequences of the birth of a much more worrying one, which will inevitably have repercussions on all parties involved.
Says the director: “Nuevo Orden proposes a dystopian vision of Mexico, which however differs only slightly from reality. This film is intended as a warning: if the inequality is not resolved civilly and if the voices of dissent are silenced, chaos ensues”.
